My wonderful Maine friends, Janet, Eleanor, Ellen, and Evelyn helped me iron out the kinks in creating a quilting retreat. I am now all set to open this spring. I plan on limiting the retreat to 8 women at a time. Later on there will be room in the barn for more, but I want to start small. It was such a fun weekend. The girls are all going to put their Friendship Fans together and we will display them at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the barn on Oct. 9th.
Designing the setting.......
Sewing up those blocks.
Here they are cutting out the blocks for our Friendship Fan Quilt.
Welcome to the first session at THE QUILTED APPLE RETREAT!!!!!
Four of my favorite Maine friends came by this weekend for some quilting fun. Here we are on the deck having lunch.

This is the cider house......we plan on putting our cider press underneath and out of the weather.
This is the inside of my Cidah House.......Mike has made it out of cedar logs. He went down in my dad's woods and cut them down.
This is the quilt I made for the Mercer Meeting House. It is a Lone Star pattern and was designed by Jan Krentz. I pieced it and Sylvia Fox quilted it.
I just love the pine floors. They are so shiny and smooth. We left one area with the original wooden plank floors.

This is my grandmother's sewing machine and this is my new Janome 6600.

I went to the quilt show in Augusta and took a brochure with this picture! It was lots of fun. Jan Krentz did a workshop!

Well I am finally back in Maine and updating my blog. It has been a TON of work, but I am loving it. Here is the "sitting area". I got the furniture from my cousin and the two quilts are from Anna Mae's vintage quilt collection.
